Uncle Vlad’s Halloween Spooktacular Puppet Show Saturday, October 21, 10:30 – 11:30 AM: Puppeteer Shane McNeal will present a special multi-media puppet show just right for the season. Batty puppet host Uncle Vlad will share some of his favorite not-too-spooky stories and introduce a group of silly monsters, werewolves and ghouls that will have the whole audience giggling. This program takes the place of our Saturday Family Storytime.

Thru Hiking the Appalachian Trail: Thursday, October 26, 6:30 PM in the Buchanan Auditorium: Come hear the story of Sam Ducharme, a retired K9 officer, who set out on a 2180 mile, 14 state backpacking trip from Springer Mountain, Georgia to Mt. Katahdin, Maine. The images and stories will leave you with a renewed awe of the beauty of our country and its people.

Curious Fun for Halloween: Saturday, October 28, 2017, 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM: Drop in to the Library for a fun celebration of the weird and the wonderful! You can dig for hidden treasure in the children’s garden, visit the alchemy lab, go on a cryptic scavenger hunt, play Mix ’n’ Match Monster and visit our special “Cabinet of Curiosities.” You’ll find plenty of things to do, and plenty of odd things to wonder about!  This program takes the place of our Saturday Family Storytime.

Author Talk: Jim Lacey: November 2, 6:30 PM: Get the story behind the story. Jim Lacey will be discussing his recent novel The Zazan Puzzle, an entertaining page turner full of complications and surprises.
