Guitar, Bass, Drums, & Piano Instructor 

Availability: Chris is available for in-person lessons this Fall on Tuesdays, 2:00-7:00pm.

Chris Farnham has taught private guitar, bass, drums, and piano lessons as well as band and ensemble lessons with children and adults for over twenty years, mainly through his own business. In addition to working at Farmington Valley Academy Montessori, Chris has taught at the Green Streets Arts Center in Middletown, CT and at the Hebrew High School of New England in West Hartford, CT and at Music and Arts in Avon, CT. He teaches private and group lessons as well as classes in music theory and composition and directs bands and choruses. He presently has over forty students of various levels.

 Chris also performs on the guitar, bass, drums, and piano, playing in various genres.

 Chris has a degree in music from the University Of Hartford, Hartt School Of Music where he studied composition and music theory. He graduation from Hartt Summa Cum Laude with a 4.0 GPA and is a member of Phi Kappa Lambda, the music honors society. He has studied at University of Bridgeport (Jazz Studies program), Southern Connecticut State University and Yale University. He has studied bass with Drew Gress, Alphonso Johnson and Steve Clarke. 



Harry Neumann - Guitar

Classical, Acoustic and Electric Guitar Instructor

Availability: Harry is available for in-person lessons this Fall on weekdays, 4:00-8:00pm, and weekends.

Harry has been setting up music programs in schools, day programs and after school programs for the last fifteen years. He created numerous rock band clubs and has been teaching blues and rock guitar in individual and group lessons to beginners and intermediate level players throughout northeastern Connecticut. He also makes custom guitars and donates them to students and US Veterans. He has created three custom guitars for Guitars4Vets. The guitars have been auctioned on reverb.com and all proceeds go to help US Veterans suffering with PTSD.

Harry has studied classical guitar and studio recording at Northeastern University with Bob Ward in Boston, MA specializing in the Christopher Parkening methods. He has attended workshops and received private instruction in guitar from Nuno Bettencourt of Extreme, Rob Mills of DiamondHead, Davy Lightnin’ of Rock City Angels, guitar master Tony MacAlpine and Blues Hall of Fame inductee Matt Schofield.

Currently Harry is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Music Production at Full Sail University where he is focusing on songwriting, recording principles, musical arrangements, music theory and music composition.
