Come travel with us on a tour of Egypt
Meet Admed Elsherif
Saturday, February. 18, 2PM
Mansfield Public Library
Egypt’s tourism is one of the leading sources of income, crucial to its economy. Admed Elsherif, a local immigrant to Storrs, will present the sites and sounds of his homeland, Egypt. With 5,000 years of history, its pyramids, tombs, and ruins, the country’s extraordinary mysteries bring revenue of nearly $13 billion in tourism.
Born in Saudi Arabia, Admed moved to Egypt as a child. His passion and love of home is evident when he talks about the region’s vast land, beautiful beaches and its deep rooted culture. Admed is anxious to meet community people interested in viewing the sites of many historical places, and experience this extraordinary region through Admed’s personal narrative.
The Mansfield Public Library and the Vernon Regional Adult Based Education program have been working in partnership to bring enrichment opportunities to the community. We will continue to showcase local immigrants to meet, greet and learn about certain aspects of their rich cultures. All events are open and free to the public.
