To celebrate the 1623 First Folio of Shakespeare’s visit to the University of Connecticut’s Benton Museum during the month of September, the Mansfield Public Library will host a performance of early music. Join us as we enjoy some popular music from the time of William Shakespeare to Johann Sebastian Bach.

Entwyned Early Music features lutes, voice, Baroque flute and viola da gamba. Three professionally trained and personable musicians will perform a truly delightful repertoire of music from 1600-1750 including Bach, Handel, Telemann, Dowland, and Johnson. The performers will also share the historical, social, and aesthetic contexts of the music and information about their instruments.

This program is free of charge and open to all.
