From Seneca Falls to the 19th Amendment: Songs of the American Woman Suffrage Movement
Presented by Rick Spencer and Dawn Indermuehle
Thursday, October 1 @ 6:00 PM
Join us for a virtual journey through the music of the Women’s Suffrage Movement. Music was one of the significant tools used in the crusade for a woman’s right to vote. Songs were composed to advance (and to oppose) the agenda that culminated in the 1920 ratification of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution. Folk musicians and music historians Rick Spencer and Dawn Indermuehle present some of the most engaging songs of the movement, with historical commentary in commemoration of the centennial of a woman’s right to vote in America..
Due to Covid-19, we are celebrating Women’s History Month a little late this year. This program is free of charge and open to all. For Zoom login information please contact Peggy @ McCarthyML@MansfieldCT.org. and I will send you the link to the zoom presentation.
