The Film Discussion’s usual date had to move for the month of July, so we are taking advantage of that to show a double feature. The Foreign Film Tuesday movie will have a connection to our Film Discussion movie. This will allow those that can make-it to both the opportunity to see each in context of the other, and people that can only make it to one will still get be able to view and discuss a culturally significant film.
At 5 pm we will be showing Douglas Sirk’s All That Heaven Allows Starring Jane Wyman as an Upper-class widow that falls in love with a much younger, down–to earth gardener (Rock Hudson), to the disapproval of her children and criticism of her country club peers. Both features are about 90 minutes long. Neither has an MPAA rating, but they are not for children. Feel free to come to one (or both) of the features.
