Listen to a story about the quilts of Gee’s Bend, Alabama, and learn about the contribution this community has made to African American art. Most of the Gee’s Bend quilts are “my way” quilts that follow a personal vision rather than a standard pattern. We’ll use this model to design our own paper quilt squares using card stock, decorative paper, fabric scraps and other materials to make each square unique. Then we’ll try assembling a Library Paper Quilt that reflects many stories!
