Building Material Reuse

Transfer Station new

New Britain ReCONNstruction Center

Attention homeowners planning a home remodel, if you have salvageable building materials, such as cabinets, lighting, lumber, plumbing supplies, doors, windows, etc, consider participating in the deconstruction pilot at the Mansfield Transfer Station.  The Town of Mansfield is partnering with the ReCONNstruction Center (https://reconnstructioncenter.org/wp/), a non-profit reuse store in New Britain, CT, that sells salvaged building materials.  As long as the building materials are in good, usable condition and pre-approved, they can be brought to the Mansfield Transfer Station for free where they will be collected for The ReCONNstruction Center.  To participate, send a picture and a short description of the items to be donated to the Mansfield Recycling Coordinator at steerd@mansfieldct.org.  Once the items are approved, they can be brought to the Transfer Station during open hours. You will receive at tax deduction form at the time of drop off. The benefit of making a donation of reusable building materials is avoiding the cost of disposal and providing good building materials to be sold at a discount.
