Rte. 32 Road Closure Monday, March 2 for Derailment Cleanup
March 2, 2026 MANSFIELD, CT On Monday, March 2, 2026 the traveling public should be prepared for Rte. 32/Stafford Rd.in Mansfield to be closed from 1 PM to 6 PM between Rte. 44 and Rte. 275.
Although the road will be closed off, access to businesses on Stafford Road will be permitted from the Rte. 275/South Eagleville Road end. The daycare centers in that area will also remain accessible to families from Rte. 44.
Emergency Management is notifying the community through the CODE RED system.
The road is being closed so that large equipment can be transported to the site of the train derailment to initiate the final phase of the train car cleanup.
Rte. 32 will be closed intermittently this week as equipment is transported to and from the site, so watch for further updates.
