**IMPORTANT INFORMATION, PLEASE READ**

The US Postal Service has changed their postmark procedure on certain mail pieces. SEE USPS CHANGES HERE

The Assessor's Office is not responsible for postal delays or processing changes that result in a late filing of time sensitive documents.

Please mail items early enough to arrive before any required deadline, use delivery confirmation services and/or electronic filing with delivery receipt.

All owners of taxable personal property are required to file declarations annually with the Assessor in the municipality where such property is located, by November 1st each year.

Owners of unregistered motor vehicles or vehicles registered in another State, are required to make declaration to the Assessor of the municipality where the vehicle "most frequently leaves from and returns to or remains." -C.G.S. 12-71b(g)

Failure to file by the prescribed deadline will result in estimated assessments with penalty.

If you previously reported taxable property that you no longer have, you must return the declaration indicating removal of the property from your tax liability. You may select any of the links below for more information.

Personal Property Declarations will be mailed to previously registered accounts and are also available for printing and downloading under the Quick Links tab "Personal Property Declarations". To register an account, complete New Business Questionnaire.
