Availability: Jane is available for in-person lessons on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 3:00-6:30 pm.


Jane hales a background deep in music stemming from childhood, and believes nobody is too old to be a student! With Jane, you will have an enormous amount of fun by beginning to learn various songs on the piano via pattern identification, concentrating on artistry and technique, and eventually, introducing sight reading and theory. Jane teaches all different styles from Classical to Jazz, Blues and Pop. Jane has several decades experience piano playing, with her mother (a Yale Music school educated piano teacher) standing by, and has been a professional singer for more than 20 years, with an extensive resume of performances, and professional partnerships.

Availability: Mo is available for in-person lessons on Wednesdays, after 4:30 pm.
 

Mo started playing the piano on his own at the age of seven before beginning formal lessons a few years later, and in his youth has been actively involved with regional solo and collaborative performance as well as competitive venues. Mo earned a B.A. from Brown University, an M.M. in piano performance from Indiana University and currently studies with Irma Vallecillo at the University of Connecticut in the Doctoral of Musical Arts program where he serves as a graduate teaching assistant of chamber music and piano accompanying. Mo was selected to perform on NPR’s “A Prairie Home Companion” with Garrison Keillor and has performed in concert with the Triple Helix Trio, the Northeast Quintet, and the Claremont Trio. He performed as a young artist for the 2009-2011 seasons at the Kneisel Hall Chamber Music Festival where he coached chamber music with Seymour Lipkin and Gilbert Kalish. Past teachers include Emile Naoumoff, Walter Hautzig, Linda Jiorle-Nagy, among others. Mo is currently an active member and a merit scholarship recipient of both the Chopin Club of Providence, RI as well as the Musical Club of Hartford, where he performs often as a soloist as well as collaborative and chamber pianist.

Availability: Ning is available for in-person lessons on Wednesdays, 2:30-6:30 pm.


Ning completed her Bachelor of Music at Xinghai Conservatory of Music, and her Master of Music at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Ning came to the Community School of the Arts in 2017 with extensive teaching experience, including time at the Kodaly Summer Institute at New York University. Ning has taught as a Private Piano Instructor from 1992 ~ Present, and as a Private & Group Piano Instructor in New York City from 2006 ~ 2015. She is fluent in English and Chinese (Mandarin & Cantonese).



Tricia Wong

Availability: Tricia is available for in-person lessons on Tuesdays  and Thursdays, 4:30-6:30 pm.


Tricia Wong is a graduate of the University of Connecticut’s Music Education IB/M program. She graduated in May 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music: Piano and a Bachelor of Science in Education and her Master of Arts degree in Education in 2020. Tricia currently teaches general music, piano/keyboard and ukulele in a local public school. She studied piano under Dr. Angelina Gadeliya, Malgosia Lis and Lan-ya Huang. Tricia has participated in the University of Connecticut’s Concerto Competition in 2018 and the 2018 BIMFA festival in Beijing. She has been involved in University of Connecticut’s Concert Band, Symphonic Band and Concert Choir.
